Curriculum

At Good Shepherd School, we believe children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences that honor their developmental stage and individual growth. Our fully integrated, developmentally appropriate curriculum is designed to support the whole child with intentional focus on Social/Emotional, Physical, Cognitive, and Language Development.

As children grow through the program, particularly in the Pre-K year, additional emphasis is placed on early academics through our Learning for a Lifetime Curriculum which incorporates foundational skills in: Literacy and Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Discovery. Creative play, social interaction, and child-led exploration are central to every classroom. Our daily rhythm includes developmentally appropriate activities that encourage thematic learning and sensory-rich engagement. These activities are enhanced through carefully chosen toys, manipulatives, visual supports, and materials that promote both fine and gross motor development while nurturing self-expression and problem-solving.

Each classroom is organized into learning centers to foster independence, creativity, and peer collaboration. All instruction is guided by the Tennessee Early Learning Development Standards, and our dedicated teachers receive training in using the curriculum to meet the unique needs of every child.
